Challenge
PUMA partnered with Balmain to create a luxurious and upscale experience for the release of their most expensive basketball shoe to date. The task was to design high-end packaging that reflected the sophistication of the collaboration and elevated the product’s premium status.
idea
As the lead on production design, I explored various luxury packaging concepts, including glass shoe boxes, custom shelving, and dresser-style displays. The final design featured a bespoke black shoe box with gold lettering, exuding elegance and exclusivity. The packaging incorporated a handle, padded leather detailing with gold-plated emblems, gold-embroidered courts, and an open-view lift box with frosted burned glass. This meticulous attention to detail ensured the sneakers were presented in a striking and memorable way.
